Youth Hockey Associations

Tomorrow's Ice provides three levels of service options for youth hockey clubs and organizations. Our team of experienced hockey leaders will assist your club with supporting the efforts and vision set in motion by your Board of Directors. The partnership between Tomorrow's Ice and your club or association is one that will help enhance the hockey product delivered to your membership. Our system combined with your club's passion to succeed will foster an experience for youth hockey players and their families that has proven over time to show consistency in membership growth, increased player interest, and player retention.

Below is the basic foundation for each of our four hockey development options we provide to our club partners. Each is customizable to ensure we meet the needs of your association and its’ membership. We believe that your players’ experience is your clubs’ success, and your clubs’ success is what leads to our success as your partner and as a company.

Option #1

Director of Hockey Operations (DHO)

The Director of Hockey Operations will manage the relationship and report to club leadership and directors. DHO will offer the club guidance for such matters but not limited to:

  • Oversee all day to day Hockey Operations and staffing for hockey development events and opportunities.
  • Consultation on proposed changes/policy to club structure as it relates to those which are hockey-specific.
  • Ice Utilization
  • Local league business determined by club leadership
  • Goalie Skills Team management
  • Coach and Player Development/Education
  • Girls Hockey Program
  • Tryout procedure
  • Skills and Player Development Clinics and Skills Team
  • Off-ice training and conditioning program
  • Skills Consultant/Hockey Development Coordinator
  • Mid-season and year end coaching surveys
  • USA Hockey ACE Coordinator

The DHO position is typically a full time position which offers all of the above and includes provision for the Hockey Director service model listed below in Option #2.

Option #2

Hockey Director (HD)

Serve as the primary resource to club leadership and membership as a hockey professional to provide direction and guidance as an assistant to all team coaches and players. HD responsibilities will align with the vision of the hockey club directors and is a direct report to the Director of Hockey Operation. HD will be expected to offer consultation as well as hands on instruction/facilitation of hockey specific services for positive development of players and coaches on a regular basis during but not limited to:

  • Implementation and delivery of the USA Hockey ADM Model
  • Practice
  • Skills/Player Development Clinics
  • Coaching Clinics/Seminars/Coach Education
  • Game Day
  • System Review
  • Team Observation and Reports
  • Tactical Strategies
  • Tryouts
  • Training Techniques and Plan
     

HD will serve on and/or offer guidance to the following:

  • Coaching Committee
  • Coach selections and recruitment
  • Tryout team selections and process
  • Goalie Skills Team liaison
  • Club hosted tournaments and hockey events in addition to standard operating procedure.
  • Assistance with player/team/parent conflicts that may arise during the course of a given season.
  • Other designated club committees agreed up between the club and TI.

HD will be the lead to oversee and manage the structure of the U6-U10 aged players at all levels to support the USA Hockey ADM Model. 

HD will coordinate and guide team of coaches responsible for players U19 through U12 (Midget-Pee Wee) including the girls program with the Girls Hockey Coordinator (GHC). HD will work in partnership with the GHC.

Option #3

HOCKEY DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR (HDC)

Develop and conduct in-season clinics with designated age groups.  

Conduct Coaches training to include sessions to discuss and demonstrate: (a) individual player skill development, and (b) drills for implementation in Team practices.

Deliver sessions to teams and players for overall foundation building and improvement across all skills sets.  Conduct power skating, puck skill, shooting, passing, stick skills, both individual and team tactics,  and game concept instruction with constructive and positive feedback.  Using sound teaching principles to move the organization in a forward direction and advancement.

Periodically attend practice sessions for each age group and for both travel and rec teams to assess, guide, and lead player skill development and drill utilization.  

HDC will assist in club programs such as:

  • Skills Clinics
  • Power Skating Clinics
  • Coaches Clinics
  • Club Development Plans
  • Tryouts
  • Practice Planning
  • System Implementation
  • Special Teams Review
  • Player Selections

Option #4

All Services on an ala carte basis and will be designed specifically to the needs of any club and any player.
